Carnivorous Plant
Okay, there's going to be a ton of animals (or monsters or creatures or whatever you want to call them), so why not have a plant? It attracts prey with a beautiful, sweet smelling flower on its head. If the prey is small enough, the plant lashes out with its head and eats it in one bite. With bigger prey, the plant attacks with thick thorny vines. The thorns inject a paralyzing poison into the prey. The plant would live in Mavi. I'll see if I can make a sketch later.

Yeah, I was thinking some sort of Venus fly trap as a head. I'll try and get a sketch up so it's easier to see what it looks like.

Re: Carnivorous Plant
It could look like the corpse flower, but it's supposed to be a sweet smelling flower. A corpse flower....isn't sweet. XD Maybe a rare type of corpse flower? Idk, that would sound odd.

Re: Carnivorous Plant
Sorry for double post, I just didn't think anyone would notice this if I edited.
Digi was kind enough to make this sketch since mine looked like a blob with vines. https://2img.net/r/ihimizer/img824/1420/flownecklace.png I'm not entirely sure what the hatchies should look like, so if anyone has any ideas that'd be great.

I think the S2 should be like the adult, although smaller and only one. And the S1, even smaller and no teeth? ^^ And the egg of course, a seed? lol

Re: Carnivorous Plant
Hm... what about a greenhouse instead of a menagerie? Seems more fitting.
May I submit a sketch?

Yeah, but yours matches up with what I was looking for better. The other vines could've used some thorns though.Digidude123 wrote:Beats my sketch for sure XD

Re: Carnivorous Plant
Feeeeeed me, Seymour.
*cough* *cough* Ahem.
I like the concept of this, but I have a couple of questions regarding to the species in itself:
- How large are they? Do they eat insects, or is it possible for them to actually eat squirrel-sized animals or larger?
- How does the seed grow in our care if we think it's an egg? Assuming we pick it up believing it's an egg, how do we give it the water/sunlight/plant it so it would grow?
Thanks for any answers you can give me. C:

Re: Carnivorous Plant
-They are fairly large. They can eat pretty much anything from something the size of a squirrel to a human (but that shouldn't happen as long as you feed it...). Think of your general "When plants attack" movie type of plant size.Drakkon wrote:Feeeeeed me, Seymour.

-I doubt many people can't tell the difference between an egg and a seed. But maybe after it doesn't hatch for a few days, you decide to plant it since it looks more like a seed than an egg. I'm open to ideas about this though...

Re: Carnivorous Plant
Possibly have this creature start out as a clipping? Similar to Spider Plants, you could just have the explorer take home a clipping from a full-grown plant in order to grow their own?

Re: Carnivorous Plant
It be rather hard to get a clipping from something like this.Though if you're REALLY careful and REALLY lucky...Maybe XDDrakkon wrote:Possibly have this creature start out as a clipping?
