Hippogryph
Hippogryphs are large flightless birds very similar in size, build, and temperament to horses. Named for the eagle/horse hybrids of legend, they actually more closely resemble oversized four-legged parrots.
The males have huge, bushy tails that they constantly preen to attract females, while the females have shorter tails used only to brush away small insects. They are large enough to safely carry two people on their backs, and like parrots, can mimic basic speech, though they are only about as intelligent as parrots.
I drew them up, but as I suuuuck at shading feathers, I probably won't do more than flatcolors myself.

Re: Hippogryph
Pretty! Cool idea also! I might do it if I can master my Hummingbird though.

Re: Hippogryph
Front.
Along with the female's front.
Are you trying to make them look like horses'?

Re: Hippogryph
Front legs are not intended to be structured just like horse legs, more like a bird leg/horse leg/raptor leg hybrid. Saying that they "look weird" is unhelpful, either say HOW they look weird or redline please.

Re: Hippogryph
The forearm/leg looks mighty short in comparison the upper thigh/arm area.
The legs seem preposterously bent outwards.

Re: Hippogryph
I don't see the problems you're describing. Front legs are actually bent inwards more than the hind legs.

Bumping because I love these and would be more than willing to sketch them again to everyones anatomy pickings and let you sprite them. They're like Chocobos and gryphons in one~

You can have them. Free reign to sketch and/or redline and/or sprite.
