Altus Signex
Image:
Origin of name: Deepsea in Latin is Altus, Signum means Seal and Senex means Old. Any other name suggestions? :<
Now I've looked around and I've seen a few seal-like things. Indeed, this is a seal-like thing. At the same time, it's not. It has some dolphin behaviors. I drew the picture above. I'm not confident about my pixeling skills but I might try it out (also need to finish the adult, but I wanted to see if this idea is plausible or not first). Anyone who wants to is welcome to try pixeling it. C:
Egg: This dark blue egg perfectly camouflages within its deep sea surroundings. (Too long?)
S1 Hatchling: The newly hatched altus seems too mammalian to have come from an egg. This pup is particularly docile, preferring to sleep and sunbathe to pass its time. It has not opened its eyes yet.
S2 Hatchling: In contrast to its behavior as a pup, the altus becomes more and more energetic as it ages. With every passing day, you find it trying and succeeding at diving deeper into its pool. It has imprinted on you and can always tell you apart from any other human.
Adult: The altus signex is a graceful creature that spends much of its time exploring the recesses of the ocean floor. They are one of the few mammals that lay eggs and leave them hidden in the deepest part of the seas for months at a time to hunt for their slowly incubating young. For this reason they are not rare, but their eggs are hard to come by. These creatures can survive in all kinds of water for several hours at a time and even a while on land, but they prefer the deeper oceans, as their coloring indicates. They travel in pods and often collaborate with other friendly sea creatures in their hunts.
Other info: Found on P1. Needs deep-sea equipment to obtain eggs.
Everything is subject to change. Any suggestions? :U
I hope I'm doing this right.
