X instead of image

I replaced all of the images in the creatures bb code whit X, do my creature now still gather views?

Do you mean making the image an X instead of the actual image like an image free gold mine? Like this: X

The way that the level up images work, so I understand, is that every time a unique IP address loads the image it gives the creature a level. If you take out the image and simply put an X, it will not gain views because the image didn't load. However, if you were to link that X to the levelup page (or in theory the levelup image though why you would want to do that is beyond me) then they would level up when clicked.

Though I'm no coder, so I can't say for sure, this is how I understand how the system works.
