Marr Bird (name?)
*diving straight in*
Well...this is my first Nyoka concept .
The Marr Bird is a small but very flashy flightless bird. They lay large clutches of 5-15 eggs. It is covered with a thin, fine, dull coat of feathers over most of it's body, apart from on it's head and tail. These areas have long plumes of feathers which serve as a display to potential mates and rivals. If their colourful feathers and strutting do not intimidate a rival, they use their specially adapted 'wings' to fight. All of the wing fingers have joined into one, and they have a claw on the end. They fight in complex sequences, rarely wounding, it's a show of strength and finesse.
They live in scrubland, maybe. They like places where they can run and dodge from predators, as speed is their best defence. If they have to, they can use their claws fairly well, although as they are a maximum of 45cm tall, they aren't much threat to large predators.
I do have a sketch, but it's a bit cartoony, so I need to make it more realistic. I am iffy at sprites, but I want to at least have a go.
I have no idea about planets yet, but I'd quite like these to be fairly common.
Am I missing anything? Any questions?

Yup! I'm sure there're plenty of people here with superior talent!. I'm doing a quick sketch on Paint to show what I'm thinking of, so that should be done in a few minutes .
Edit:
The colours are a bit odd, the arms are too thin I think, the body shape should be a bit shorter or something, and I fail at legs, but, yeah.

True that also while sketching I realised that the information about food is missing.
I mean what does it eat? You know the beak shape has to reflect this a bit. ^^

Well, I think they are omnivores, eating insects, seeds, nuts, etc. Maybe scavenging, but they aren't predators. XD

Re: Marr Bird (name?)
Nice, but I imagined the head feathers to be more of a plume, behind the head ;D.
Kind of like this. Only, more extensive and colourful.

So Sallin which sketch did you liked more? 1st or 2nd? (To know which one I should edit^^')
And Megablukk it's just than an egg isn't actually neither intimidating nor feathery. x_x
