The Vashta Bird
The Vashta Bird is a bird that lives on Mavi. It's an *coughs*addorible*coughs* metalic bird. The males are gold and the females silver, and they have bat-like wings instead of feathery wings. It charms it's prey by it's dazzling colors and then, quick as can be, pounce. These birds are super rare and very dangerous, super sharp beak and talons. They also leave their young when they hatch from eggs.
I just drew a sketch of all the stages, now to sprite them, Mwwwaahaahaaa!
(PS, Rebs, tell me if I've gone a little too far now, thanks)

Re: The Vashta Bird
Are they made out of real metal or are their feathers just shiny like metal? If they are made out of real metal, Rebs won't agree with it.

Re: The Vashta Bird
They just look metalic. They aren't really gold or silver, or they won't be abble to fly. XD

Re: The Vashta Bird
I thought so. A metal bird sounds too much like a Skarmory, lol.
About your description though: there are many bird species that abandon their young, even going so far as to have other birds take care of them (unwillingly).

Re: The Vashta Bird
I forgot to put also that they, unlike most birds they don't have any feathers at all. Only a leathery sort of skin. I'm not sure but I don't think many birds have that. XD
EDIT: rough sketch, PLEASE DON'T, I still need to clean it up.

Re: The Vashta Bird
I think the feet need to be more defined and the beak needs an ending line (I can't describe that well. DX).

Re: The Vashta Bird
Beak looks fine now and I love the shading. Soooooo shiny!
The feet still need to be fixed. Right now they look like twigs, give them a bit of depth. Large birds have thick toes (and depending on the species, claws). That what I meant by more defined feet. I should have elaborated.
Now that I looks at 'em, the wings positions look a bit funny, but I want a second opinion on that.

Re: The Vashta Bird
The shoulder looks really weird. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it just is. Also, the area where the leg connects to the body should be wider.

Re: The Vashta Bird
I think the wing arm's a bit thin and noodley, and the membrane's connection to the body looks a bit off - I can't tell exactly where it's connecting to.
Re: The Vashta Bird
You were basing the wings off of a bat yes? Here:

Re: The Vashta Bird
I'm glad that wasn't just me. The wings also look kind of rubbery towards the tip, almost like they're inflatable.ignite444 wrote:
